Thank you to everyone who donated to our fundraiser! We were able to fully fund and purchase the groomer to use at the end of the season. Your support enables us to offer a higher-quality ride experience for years to come!

Summer youth cycling oppertunities

Bike Rodeo Presented by Sheboygan PD

The Sheboygan Police Department is sponsoring the 2024 Kids Bike Rodeo. Topics include hand signals, bicycle maintenance, safe riding, rules of the road, lock-up, and handouts. Activities include free helmet fitting, free bike inspection, free education and skills course, and free PRIZES. Sign up in advance below for a free bonus gift bag. Registrations are also accepted at the event.

The skills course will teach riders how to change directions, steer through tight spaces, weave and maneuver, watch for danger, stop safely, and many other skills in a safe and controlled environment. It is open to children ages 3-14 years old. Parents/guardians/family are also encouraged to participate. Please bring a bicycle and helmet. Bikes are available at the event if needed. Riders must be able to balance without assistance (training wheels are welcome). New helmets are available if needed while supplies last.

Summer Pop up bike playgrounds

Save The dates! Join us at one of our many bike playgrounds this summer. 

What is a bike playground? Bike playgrounds are trail features designed to encourage new riders to enjoy cycling in a non-traditional manner. Join our volunteers in learning how to navigate ramps, skinnies, cones, and other ignite an interest in cycling! 

More details: 

  • Designed for ages 2 and up
  • Pedal bikes, strider bikes, and training wheels all welcome! 
  • loaner helmets available! 
  • Adult supervision required. 

 

Thanks to a donation by Trek Sheboygan, several loaner bikes will be available at each event! Thank you, Trek Sheboygan for supporting our programs. 

Evergreen Park trail improvement project

Sheboygan County Cycling has partnered with the City of Sheboygan to improve the trail experience at Evergreen and Quarry Parks. To accomplish this, we have entered a contract with the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) to create a master plan for the park.  

 

SCC wants your help in deciding the direction of the bike and multiuse trails within the park. Learn more about the project through the link above.

But SCC is more than just a series of events; it’s a community of like-minded individuals who share a passion for pedal-powered exploration. Our events provide a platform for cyclists to connect, learn from each other, and forge lasting friendships. From families looking to enjoy a casual ride together to adrenaline junkies seeking the rush of competition, or little ones looking to be introduced to the world of cycling. Our calendar is filled with events that cater to a wide range of preferences and abilities. 

 

Get involved

Sheboygan County Cycling is currently engaged in exciting projects to enhance the local cycling experience. We’re improving trails at Evergreen Park, grooming winter mountain bike trails at Greenbush, and enhancing trails at Rocky Knoll in Plymouth. These efforts demonstrate our commitment to providing safe, enjoyable, and sustainable cycling opportunities for all.

However, we can’t do it alone. SCC is calling for volunteers to join them in these endeavors. If you’re passionate about cycling and want to make a positive impact on your community, consider lending a hand. Your support will not only help improve cycling infrastructure but also contribute to a healthier and more vibrant outdoor culture.
